Rules for using the network

All passengers using the TBM network must possess an appropriate ticket or card that has been validated. Every time you use a route on the network, you must validate your ticket or card, even if you are just changing services. If you travel without a ticket or card, or with a ticket or card that has not been validated, you risk paying a penalty fare.

With Tickartes,

• You must validate your Tickartes even if you are just changing services. You will not be charged for any additional journey for up to an hour after the first validation.
• Look at the white side of your Tickarte to see how many remaining journeys you have. A series of numbers lets you know the last validations recorded. If your Tickarte has no remaining journeys, a series of asterisks * will be printed on the white side of the ticket.
• The number of remaining journeys on your Tickarte is always displayed on the validating machine when you enter your card.

With a TBM card, topped up with pay-as-you-go journeys,

• You must validate your Tickartes even if you are just changing services. You will not be charged for any additional journey for up to an hour after the first validation.
• To find out how many journeys are left on your card, use the ticket machines located at tram stations or in one of our 5 ticket offices.
• The number of journeys remaining on a card is always displayed on the machine when you validate your card

With a TBM card topped up with a season ticket,

• Vous devez valider même en correspondance.
• You can travel as often as you want during the period covered by your season ticket.
• Each time you validate your card, the machine displays the expiry date of your season ticket.

Both old and new validating machines are currently in use on TBM’s tram, bus and Bat³ services. This is a temporary situation until new cards and contactless Tickartes are introduced. Interim arrangements:

In the direction indicated by the arrows on your card, slide your Tickarte into the slot in the yellow validating machines.

CARDS: YELLOW VALIDATING MACHINES and NEW VALIDATING MACHINES
Place your TBM card onto the machine’s sensor for a few seconds without moving it.
